Helping communities recover from disasters
Federal monies are allocated to states during times of disaster. To help mitigate damages from flooding and other weather-related incidents in 2008, federal funds were allocated to be administered through Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA).
Working with various funding sources, including federal programs, the IEDA makes awards to assist communities recovering from disaster. Long-term monitoring of the awards helps ensure communities use funding to make the most impact.
For more information on the programs offered during previous disasters, visit the plans and reports section under "Our Agency."
